Old Imari is the famous porcelain of Japan.
The porcelain was first produced in the Arita area of Kyushu
at the end of sixteenth century as Edo period 1615-1868.
That was shipped through the port Imari so it became well known by its
name Imari.
Old Imari developed through from the begining to end of the Edo period,
the first Old Imari exported to Eourope,
the late Old Imari came to be used to in domestic.
The Shida kilns in Arita area well kown to produce
the cobalt underglaze decorated plates in the late Edo period.
The plates was pictured a lovely cobolt blue and white,
it was call sometuke in Japanese.
Also the design has lighthearted and popular and slightly humorus.
This taste gives us a deep impression.
It has a special fascination.
